State Disaster Response Force at a glance :-
The headquarters of the State Disaster Response Force, Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, is located in Village-Noornagar Bhadarsa, Police Station-Bijnor, Tehsil-Sarojini Nagar, District-Lucknow. It is situated 15 kilometers from Amausi Airport, 3 kilometers from Kisan Path, 13 kilometers from Mohanlalganj, 26 kilometers from Gomti Nagar, and 22 kilometers from Charbagh Railway Station. Various modes of transportation are available for commuting from here.
The Uttar Pradesh government has sanctioned a total of 1,029 positions for six companies of this force. Currently, 729 officers/employees are serving in this force. Officers/employees appointed in these six companies have undergone six weeks of training provided by the 11th Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Varanasi, and the 8th Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Ghaziabad. Among them, 65 officers/employees have received Training of Trainers (TOT) courses in First Medical Responder (MFR) and Collapsed Structure Search and Rescue (CSSR) from the 7th Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Bathinda. Additionally, 21 officers/employees have completed the Master of Trainers (MOT) program in First Medical Responder (MFR) and Collapsed Structure Search and Rescue (CSSR) from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) Academy, Nagpur, Maharashtra. At present, 233 officers/employees of the State Disaster Response Force have completed the Scuba Diving Course from the Kalinga Diving Foundation, Cuttack, Odisha, and 130 officers/employees have undergone Rope Rescue training from the Nanda Devi Institute, Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand. A total of 108 personnel have completed training related to Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) hazards from the 8th Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Ghaziabad. Additionally, 45 personnel have completed the Training of Trainers (TOT) program in Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) from the 5th Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Maharashtra. For borewell rescue operations, 35 personnel have undergone a three-day training program at the 10th Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh.
This force primarily provides rapid response in disasters such as floods, earthquakes, road accidents, railway accidents, fires, and incidents involving chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear hazards, as well as borewell rescue operations. The State Disaster Response Force, Uttar Pradesh, is equipped with various modern tools to handle disasters, including 79 types of first aid equipment, 35 types of multipurpose tools, 99 types of collapsed structure search and rescue equipment, 16 types of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) equipment, and 15 types of flood rescue equipment.
Apart from the headquarters of the State Disaster Response Force, Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, teams of this force are stationed 24/7 at regional response centers in various districts of the state. These teams are established in three zones of the state, which are: Western Zone in Bareilly and Moradabad, Central Zone in the 35th Battalion PAC, Lucknow, and Etawah district, and Eastern Zone in Ayodhya, Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Varanasi, and Gorakhpur districts.
